The Innovative and Environmentally Sound Armouring Technology

The material Relastan is an innovation of Kaba Safes + Vaults at Rümlang in Switzerland. This material technology was developed in close co-operation with colleges of advanced technology and material testing institutions. The developing engineers had to meet high demands regarding the environmental soundness. The result is a highly efficient armouring material, which meets a wide range of technical and ecological requirements.

• RelastanSTAN is a combination of elastic and hard materials. 50 % of it is recycled material. 

• The production of Relastan requires a lower energy consumption than for the production of conventional armouring materials with an equivalent resistance degree. 

• Relastan is 50 % lighter and less bulky than conventional armouring materials.
  
  

• Relastan is very stable and has a high durability.
  
  

• Relastan does not present any disposal problems, because  the individual components can be easily separated. The disposal causes less and ecologically more harmless waste than conventional armouring materials.
  
  This technology is the proof of how economy and ecology can be perfectly combined. The armouring material is used in various Kaba products such as:
