Concept and planning a locking system

The cylinder

is a normed construction component. It is sometimes erroneously referred to as a door lock. The door cylinder is actually the code unit of the lock built into the door, and operates the locking bar when the key is turned. For this reason, the functions of the locking cylinder and the lock itself must be clearly separated when planning locking systems.

Intrusion protection

If intrusion protection is an issue, the area of things to take into consideration shifts to include fittings (hinges, plates) and even the construction of the door itself.
