Kaba MC cylinder – combining mechanics and electronics

Kaba MC cylinder – combining mechanics and electronics.

Overview

Kaba mechatronic cylinders bridge the gap between electronic access control and the world of mechanics, fitting seamlessly into existing mechanical master key systems.

These cylinders are traditionally operated using a key. The Kaba MC key’s authorisation is checked electronically on the outside of the cylinder.

From inside, the mechatronic cylinder can be operated via a rotary knob or via the MC key’s mechanical authorisation.

They are ideal on outside doors, for example.

The Kaba mechatronic cylinder range is part of the Kaba evolo product family and supports current RFID technologies.

Features

  • Access system flexibility – choose either complete or partial transfer from mechanics to electronics.
  • Combination of mechanics and electronics – the Kaba MC design key combines two worlds: one key opens all doors as usual.
  • Protection of investment – additional functions can be added and the system can be integrated into existing Kaba master key systems.
  • Wireless function – convenient programming from your desk: with the Kaba wireless solution, the mechatronic cylinder is linked wirelessly to your access solution.

Components

Kaba MC design key

Whether your system incorporates time registration, electronic or mechanical access control, the Kaba MC design key is the key that combines everything. Access authorisation is checked at the electronic locking components using the RFID chip integrated into the head of the key, whilst the reversible key can be used to operate a mechanical locking cylinder.

Kaba mechatronic cylinder, surface-mounted

The surface-mounted mechatronic cylinder is ideal for fire protection and hollow profiled doors. The robust metal cabinet with integrated electronics is fastened to the inside of the cylinder. The door does not need adjusting during assembly.

Authorisations are checked electronically from the outside and mechanically from the inside.

Kaba MC cylinder DK, surface-mounted

The surface-mounted mechatronic cylinder DK is ideal for fire protection and hollow profiled doors. The robust metal cabinet with integrated electronics is fastened to the inside of the cylinder. The door does not need adjusting during assembly.

Authorisations are checked electronically from the outside. The door can be conveniently opened and closed using the rotary knob from the inside.

Kaba mechatronic cylinder forend

The mechatronic cylinder forend is impressively discreet in appearance. The electronics are countersunk in the door so as not to be visible from the outside.

Authorisations are checked electronically from the outside and mechanically from the inside.

Kaba mechatronic cylinder DK, forend

The mechatronic cylinder DK, forend, is impressively discreet in appearance. The electronics are countersunk in the door so as not to be visible from the outside.

Authorisations are checked electronically from the outside. The door can be conveniently opened and closed using the rotary knob from the inside.

Kaba half mechatronic cylinder

The half mechatronic cylinder is impressively discreet in appearance. The electronics are countersunk in the door so as not to be visible from the outside.

Authorisations are only checked from the outside (electronically).

Kaba mechatronic cylinder compact

In the Kaba compact cylinder, the mechatronics and electronics form one unit. Existing locking cylinders can be quickly and easily replaced with a mechatronic cylinder.

Authorisations are checked electronically from the outside. From the inside, the door can be conveniently opened and closed using the knob.
